"Hi, I'm Rhoda Morgenstern. I was born in the Bronx, December 1941. I've always felt responsible for World War II..." Ooops, wrong show. :-) I'm Linda M. Young and was born Linda Maria Lanzi of Cranston, Rhode Island, also in December, but 14 years later and am only responsible for a small budgerigar whose name is Pigwidgeon. (Guess one of the book series I like.) I was brought up on great old kids' television series, Italian food, Hood's milk, Del's frozen lemonade, Eclipse coffee syrup, and an unsatiable appetite for books. When my mom came home from downtown, I didn't ask her what toy she'd brought me, I asked "Did you bring me a book?" I didn't have my craving totally satiated until I went to work and could buy books for myself. Since I've found Amazon, Bookfinder, and E-Bay, I'm dizzy with the prospects. There are truly so few minutes and so many books!

I'm also a big fan of TV's House, MD and Monk in the present and, in the past, Remember WENN, Ask the Manager, The Waltons, Ellery Queen, Flambards, My World and Welcome to It, America, From the Earth to the Moon, Brooklyn Bridge, Blake's 7, Doctor Who, St. Elsewhere, Quantum Leap, Voyagers!, Disney's Gallegher, and, of course, Lassie. I don't think I could list all my favorite books here. They include Mary Stewart's Merlin trilogy, the Harry Potter books, the Philip Pullman "His Dark Materials" series, anything Madeleine L'Engle writes, Gladys Taber's Stillmeadow books, Anne Perry, Elizabeth Peters' Amelia Peabody mysteries, Earlene Fowler, Rupert Holmes, the Mercedes Lackey Valdemar books, Kate Seredy, Louisa May Alcott, Lois Lenski, Huckleberry Finn, Red Sky at Morning, Addie Pray, Life is a Banquet, A Christmas Carol, and a bunch of Christmas, historical, and linguistic books.

I live in Marietta, GA, with James ("the Mister"), "Pidge" (not "Pig") the budgie, and "Willow," the Pomeranian/terrier mix (James calls her a "Pom de Terrier" or our little "Potato Dog."), in a house named "Autumn Hollow."
